Clickable, acid labile immunosuppressive prodrugs for in vivo targeting published in Biomaterial Science

January 1, 2020

Congrats to Hua and team on their recent publication which describes DBCO-modified prodrugs of various immunosuppressive drugs and their targeted conjugation to azido-modified hydrogels via Click chemistry. Placement of these hydrogels in tissues facilitates sustained, local release of drugs and enables repeatable refilling via systemic administration of acid-labile prodrugs after drug exhaustion. Such an approach provides new possibilities for targeted immunosuppression in the context of allotransplantation.
