Ellen Roche

Ellen is a graduate student working on strategies for cardiac repair. In the Mooney Lab she works on using biomaterials for increasing cell retention in the heart. She is co-advised by Prof. Walsh and works in the Biodesign lab on soft robotic devices to assist the heart. She is interested in combining biological and mechanical strategies for healing the heart.

Ellen obtained her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from National University of Ireland, Galway and her MSc in Bioengineering from Trinity College, Dublin. She is doing a dual MD/PhD program with Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
